The course has been designed as an introduction to e-business and related concepts. In the first half of the course, social and business aspects of e-business will be discussed and e-marketing, e-commerce and e-operations concepts will be explained. Electronic payment systems will be described and legal and ethical issues in the context of e-Business will be discussed. The second half of the course will deal with the technical side of e-business applications such as web development technologies, interoperability, standards and Internet related security issues. The objective of the course is to introduce fundamental gaming concepts and technologies together with giving knowledge of virtual environments, display technologies and interaction techniques. Understanding why people play games, how they fell immersed, how do players interact with computers, which cognitive processes happen, what are the social impacts of games and other technologies are some of the issues that researchers deal with. Another objective is to establish an environment in which the current research issues of gaming and virtual environments are discussed and studied to contribute to the field.

The basics of the Java Programming Language are given, object oriented aspects of the Java Programming Language are used to introduce the concepts of object oriented programming, and using the Java libraries to manipulate objects is illustrated.
