Good read; from my experience, showing some sympathy/empathy helps and next time she is less confused…
Now we need a similar article from a blunt gay man and then we can figure it all!

I bad about this. The thing is I KNOW that I’m being insane and don’t want to be doing it but I just can’t bring myself to open up without him narrowing it down. “is is this?” no. “this?” silence..little head nod.
I want to just blurt out and say it but always catch myself. It’s SO annoying, I think it bothers me more than him *sigh*

Actually it might be even more difficult for you Nikki.
You see, women’s favorite jibe about men is that we understand nothing about them. So things are credited to cluelessness rather than insensitivity.
But you are a woman! You’re supposed to be in on the secrets. If you don’t get it then it can’t simply be male cluelessnes but actual insensitivity!
But I can’t simply call it insanity. The ‘mysterious woman’ is kind of a cultural archetype held up as an ideal for women. Was Scarlett O’Hara transparent in her feelings and desires? Being coy and indirect is part of virtually every romantic female hero out there.
