5. Security versus Usability: In security, one of the biggest challenges is to build secure systems without degrading their usability. Is security a conflicting requirement with usability? Or in other words do more secure systems need to be less user-friendly? Not necessarily in theory but in practice there is a question mark. The only thing we know for sure is that the less usable the security is, the less it is used, implying the less security we have. Users generally prefer to simply disable the security features or find ways around it if they can not figure out how it is working or when they find it too tiresome to use. For instance, when your computer system requires users to have a long password for a better security, it is likely that you see people, who can not memorize them, writing their passwords on a small post-it note and keep them near their computers. This is one example of interesting tradeoffs for security related decisions.
