QUALITY AWARDS

A number of different quality awards have been created in order to stimulate companies and organizations, nationally, and internationally, to work on quality improvements. The main purpose of these awards is to emphasize successful ventures and to stimulate companies and organizations to self-assessments.

There are three models, related to which have been widely adopted by organizations. These awards are The Deming prize, The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, and The European Quality Award.

Within Europe, since the launch of The European Quality Award, there has been an increase in the number of awards at the national and local level, all based on the base model and processes used by THE EUROPEAN FOUNDATION FOR QUALITY MANAGEMENT AWARD (EFQM). One example to these kind of awards is TUSIAD-KalDer Quality Award.
