Course Objectives
This course introduces the fundamental concepts of high-energy astrophysics and provides students with the theoretical background required to understand the origin, evolution, and observational properties of energetic astrophysical objects and phenomena.
Course Content
Cosmic rays, relativistic particle detection, supernovae, pulsars, quasars, X-ray sources, and particle–photon interactions in astrophysical environments.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Explain the physical processes responsible for high-energy astrophysical phenomena.
- Interpret observations of energetic astronomical sources.
- Analyze the properties of cosmic rays, pulsars, supernovae, quasars and X-ray sources.
- Apply theoretical concepts to current problems in high-energy astrophysics.
