Prevention Problem:

Preventing one process from interfering with another is the protection problem. This protection can take place at two levels:

  • File management: dealing with logical memory objects.
  • Memory management: dealing with physical memory objects.

The confinement problem is usually defined as that of preventing programs communicating outward other than through authorized channels.
