Sandboxing: You want to run some code that you have downloaded from the Web as an applet. The concern is that the applet might do some nasty. Java language tackles this problem by providing a “sandbox” for such code – a restricted environment in which it has limited access to system resources. Sandboxing technique is too restrictive for general programming environments, though. |
